Ruth Haynes Babin, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 29, 2017, in her home at the age of 89. She entered this world on August 30, 1928, in Plaquemine, La. She was a hard worker and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Joseph A. Babin Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Linda Babin of St. Francisville, Stephen and Dottie Babin of Greenwell Springs, and Timothy and Angela Babin of Zachary; 5 grandchildren, Emily Babin Phantz, Aaron Babin, Brittany Landry, Daniel Babin, and Seth Babin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Haynes of Plaquemine; sisters, Jeanette Breaux, Doris Boudreaux, Evelyn Dupree; and grandsons, Michael and Chad Babin. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Rd, Baton Rouge, La., on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Father Frank Bass will officiate the service. The graveside service and burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Cardinal Hospice, In His Care Hospice, and all the caregivers that have done such a wonderful job caring for Ruth.
