Dr. Thomas H. Tedder, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2014 at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond, LA. Dr. Tedder was a retired educator with 40 years of service. Dr. Tedder earned his PhD. From the University of Southern Mississippi. He served as principal of Beat-4 School and Mosell School in Mississippi, and Professor at Southeastern Louisiana University. As long as his health permitted, he was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hammond, serving as Deacon Emeritus. He served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was the founder of the La. Council of Professors of Educational Administration and held the honor of Professor Emeritus at Southeastern Louisiana University. Thomas, 85, was preceded in death by his wife Rojean B. Tedder, son Thomas Edward Tedder, and parents Thomas Hamilton and Nora Ruth Tedder, and step-mother Camille Tedder. He is survived by his daughter, Jan Labbe' and husband Steve; Grandchildren; Anne Labbe' Gowan and husband John, Stephen Labbe' and wife Jennifer, great-grandchildren; Madison and Samantha Gowan and Grace and Tyler Labbe'; Daughter-in-law Agnes Tedder, grandchildren Johnathon Sprouse and wife Allison, Jennifer Sprouce, Emma Sprouce, and Stephanie Tedder, great-grandchildren Collin and Candance Sprouse, Emily Brownlee and Richard Mistretta, Hope Adams, Abigail Bennett and Charli Hibbard. The family will receive guests at First Baptist Church of Hammond on Wednesday, January 15 between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 PM and Thursday, January 16 between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00 followed by the service at 11:00. Graveside services will be held at Hays Cemetery near Meridian, Mississippi at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 17. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hays Cemetery Fund and mailed to Mrs. Martha Germany at 4299 County Road 456 in Meridian, MS 39301.
