Van "Big Daddy" Borom Calhoun Jr., 76, of Killian, LA, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at Richard Murphy Hospice House He was a member of first United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge. He is survived by his children, Suzanne Calhoun Hall and husband, Garland, Dollieanne Calhoun Green and husband, John, and Van "Beau" Borom Calhoun, III and wife, Rhonda; wife, Judith P. Calhoun; grandchildren, Zachary, Suzannah, Jonathan, Colby, Tyler, Anna, Austin, Whitney, Cailyn; great-grandchildren, Juliana, Brayden, Cristian, Greyson; brother, Donald B. Calhoun, Sr.; as well as numerous friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Van Borom Calhoun, Sr.; mother, Elsie Dolly Delage Calhoun; and step-mother, Ruth S. Calhoun. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Greg Allen and Dr. Rebecca Roques-Davis for their care of Van. Also to his dear friend, neighbor and care taker, Blaine LeMaire for the love and care he has shown through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richard Murphy Hospice House, Hammond, LA, or Northoaks Hospice. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
