She was born on November 16, 1918 to William Oliver Hendren and Fannie Noe Hendren at the family farm. Willanna enjoyed the horse ride to school with her sister Jane as a young girl. As a child of the depression, Willanna's strong work ethic manifested itself at her job, keeping a spotless home and an immaculate yard, and in her gifted quilting. Mrs. Tuttle was a steadfast member of Broadmoor Baptist Church for 51 years and a longtime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by one son, Dr. William H Tuttle and his wife Ann; 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Tuttle Burns and William Lambert Tuttle and his wife Monica; and 6 great-grandchildren: Morgan and Harper Burns, Cade Callaway, and Meredith, Madeleine, and Gus Tuttle, all of Baton Rouge; and cousin Frances Wood and friend Joe Hodges of Kentucky, nieces Barbara Cripe and Carolyn Carpenter, and special Kentucky friends and family in our hearts, Bill and Louise Grant and their family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Harrison Tuttle; her parents; and her sister, Jane Olive Hendren Hodges.
