Bill passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake hospital after a brief illness. A loving, devout husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was 88 years old. He never met a stranger and put a smile on everyone's face. He was a long time St. Gerard Parishioner and World War II
Navy veteran. He retired from Exxon after 42 years, worked in the LSU ticket office for 33 years and attended Manresa retreat for 52 years. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will resume on Friday, September 6, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Jerry Martin. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Thelma Breaud Bailey; four children, Deborah Fernandez and spouse, Michael, Janell LaBorde and spouse, Ronald, Rachel Beebe and spouse Chuck, William G. "Bill" Bailey and spouse Cherie; ten grandchildren, Jason Fernandez and spouse Courtney, Amanda L. Robertson and spouse, Ricky, Allyson LaBorde, LT Ronald LaBorde Jr., Matthew LaBorde, Jessie Beebe and spouse Havilah, Richard Beebe, Bill Bailey Jr., Christopher Bailey, Madeline Bailey; two great grandchildren, Gavin Beebe and Griffin Beebe. He is survived by siblings Williamine Browning, Sylvia Eppinett, Clarence Bailey and Kenneth and Vivian Bailey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bailey Sr. Pallbearers will be his seven grandsons and nephew Jimmy James.
