Bert Schexnaydre passed away at Our Lady of The Lake Hospital on Saturday, August 24, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 86. Bert was a graduate of Donaldsonville High School in Donaldsonville and attended Louisiana State University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retiree of Ormet Corp. in Burnside, La. He had an unconditional love for his family and enjoyed sports and fishing. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ola Mae Waguespack Schexnaydre of 65 years, his children, Craig and wife, Debbie, Myles and wife, Nevil, Kim Templet and husband, Edmond, Jeff and wife, Susie, Boyd and wife, Steffi. Grandchildren are Nicholas Allen, Jodi and Ryan Schexnaydre, Alan Schexnaydre and wife, Kacie, Andy Schexnaydre and wife, Amy, Eric Templet and wife, Alisha, Jana Vidrine, Alicia, Justin and Jace Schexnaydre,and Sydney and Jake Schexnaydre. Great-grandchildren are Bronx Schexnaydre, Kannon, Kinsley and Kruz Templet and Natalie and Emilie Vidrine. He is survived by his brothers, Nolte (Boy), Kenneth (Ke-Ken), Dayton and Lyle Schexnaydre of Burnside, and Vernon (Coon) of Gonzales; and sisters, Sister Mary de Montfort of New Orleans and Ione Schexnaydre LeBlanc of Burnside. Preceded in death by his parents, Berthil and Edith Brou Schexnaydre, daughter, Lynette Schexnaydre Allen Robert, a sister, Edith (Boo-Boot) Schexnaydre Bourg, brothers, Clyde and Earl; and three sisters. Visitation at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, La. 22, Darrow, La., from 8 a.m., until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Monday, August 26, 2013. Entombment in Ascension of Our Lord Mausoleum in Donaldsonville, La. Pallbearers will be Alan, Andy, Ryan, Justin, Jace and Jake Schexnaydre, Eric Templet and Nicholas Allen.
