A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and a good friend to all who knew him. He was a native of La Barre and a resident of Baton Rouge. He passed on to the Lord early Saturday morning, May 25, 2013 at the age of 88. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was manager/owner of Dad's Bar until his retirement. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home will be held Wednesday May 29, 2013 at 9am until services at noon at the Greenoaks Chapel, with interment of Christian burial following at Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his only child, Glinda Knapps and husband Rocky; two grandson's Devin and Jason Knapps and wife Jennie; six great grandchildren, Peyton, Grace, Jude, Hayden, Gavin and Brody Knapps; one brother, Riley Comeaux and wife Thelma; numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his extended family, the Lamberts'. Preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Ida Comeaux, brothers, Sidney, Ivy, Harry, Emile, Norman, Lloyd, Daniel, and Emerson; two sisters Elvira Matrain and Henrietta Morales; former wife Helen Crochet; and longtime friend and companion Hazel Lambert. Special thanks to brother-in-law Lawrence "Boboy" Crochet, sister-in-law Bonnie Crochet Gibbs and nephew Jared Gibbs for all weekend trips to the hunting camp for so many years. It was his home-sweet-home. Also, a special thanks to Lois and Tommy Cook for being his guardian angels at the end of his life journey.
