A resident of Kentwood, LA, and a native of Spearfish, SD died at 12:50PM on Sunday, August 17, 2014. She was born January 12, 1922 and was 92 years of age. After high school, she went to Beautician's school and then to Teacher's college, where she worked for 1 year as a school teacher in a one room school house in the country. She then moved to San Diego, CA and worked in the war plant building the B-24 bombers, where she met her future husband. She was married in the Methodist church to Quennon Swearingen in 1944. She was widowed in 1968 and married L.M. McDaniel in 1975. Survived by 2 daughters, Beverly Parson and husband, Bill and Connie Brabham and husband, David; and 1 step son, Dickie McDaniel and wife, Trudy; 5 grandchildren, Brian Parson and wife, Kelly, Christopher Parson and wife, Amanda, Kevin Parson, Cortney DeLuca and husband, Charlie and Daron Brabham and and wife, Michaelyn; 5 great grandchildren, Quennon Parson, Everleigh Parson, Presley DeLuca, Michael DeLuca and Reid Brabham; 1 brother, John Gorham and wife, Kathy; numerous nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husbands, Quennon Swearingen and L.M. McDaniel; her daughter, Diana Swearingen; her sister and four brothers. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 10 AM until religious services at 2 PM Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Services conducted by Rev. Kevin Smith.
