Gilbert Dudley Fish, III (formerly Dudley Paul Harrington), a resident of Baton Rouge since 1979, died at his home on August 25, 2014. He was 63. He was born in Mt. Vernon, New York, and grew up in Freeport, Illinois. After serving in the Air Force he attended the University of Washington where he earned a B.S. in microbiology in 1977; he obtained an M.H.A. from Tulane University in 2001. He worked for many years as a medical technologist, clinical microbiologist, and related positions, retiring because of poor health in 2005. Dudley was an avid student of World War II history and was a charter member of the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathleen Story Harrington; two brothers, Robert Fish (Heidi) of Union, Illinois, and Richard Harrington of Tucson, Arizona; a sister, Peggy Phelps of Williamsburg, Virginia; two half-sisters, Wendy Harrington of Palo Alto, California, and Christy Harrington-McIlvaine (Steven) of Park City Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Gilbert Dudley Fish, Jr. and Rita Harjanne. In accordance with Dudley's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
