Joseph Allen, born September 20, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on November 10, 2012. He was 82 and a former resident of Seattle, WA and a current resident of Zachary, Louisiana. He is survived by his sister Audrey Mae Allen, his brother Charles Allen; and his children: Joseph Allen Jr. and wife Janet Allen (Seattle, WA); Dewayne Allen (Seattle, WA); Donna Butler and husband Ivy Butler (Zachary, LA); Patricia Jenkins and husband Arthur Jenkins (Zachary, LA); Anthony Allen and wife Alice Allen (Seattle, WA); and Terrie Lundy (Zachary, LA). He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, as well as two God-Children. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette Allen, parents Dave Allen and Elnora Allen, and his son Vernon Allen, all of Seattle, WA. Joseph Allen, a veteran having served in the US Navy, lived a full and joyful life. He enlisted in the Navy in 1952 and received the National Defense Award. Retired Manager of Naylor Brothers Hardware where he worked for 16 years in Baton Rouge, LA. He was a Deacon at New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA and also a member of Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Seattle, WA. He was currently a member of Interdenominational Faith Assembly Church in Baton Rouge, LA where he served faithfully. Funeral services will be held at Interdenominational Faith Assembly Church, 5045 Greenwell Street, on Friday, Nov. 16, at 10:00 a.m (visiting from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m). Interment at the Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA. Funeral arrangements by Richardson Funeral Home, Clinton, LA. 225-683-5222.
