Julie Sholars Strange, a native of Baton Rouge, La, and resident of Asheville, NC, died Feb. 28, 2013. Julie was born on December 11, 1939 in Baton Rouge, LA. Julie was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and Louisiana State University. Before retiring to raise her family, Julie worked as a schoolteacher. In addition to spending time with her family, Julie enjoyed cooking, painting, gardening, decorating and traveling. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Julius Allen Sholars and Charlene DeVries Sholars, and her brother Julius Allen Sholars, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles Allen "Bo" Strange, her sister Beth Sholars Kring and her husband Dr. Roddy Kring; her 5 children, Susan Strange, Loren Beth Mattson and husband Jon Mattson, Charles Allen "Chip" Strange, Jr. and wife Danna Strange, Clinton Michael Strange and wife Peggy Strange, and Richard Bryant Strange. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; Amanda Johnson, Mollie Johnson, Sarah Simon, Samantha Simon, Andrea Strange Minett, Bo Strange, Mary Margaret Strange, Mac Strange and Dorothy Strange, and her beloved dog, Bob. Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, The , or the .
