Marc Christopher Lundberg passed away due to heart complications on Sunday, February 10, 2013; he was 32 years old. Marc will always be remembered for his warm, calm, gentle smile and his aura of goodness and kindness. He was a light in a crowd and a very fine, genuine young man. He loved his family and friends more than anything. Marc was born on April 7, 1980 and was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School Class of 1998. He then earned a Bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University School of Business in 2002 and graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Master's in Business Administration in 2004. He began his accounting career at the University of New Orleans in the Athletic Department and later became the Gift Accounting Specialist at Dillard University. Loving son of Dr. Olof H. Lundberg Jr. and Anna (Paone) Lundberg, he is survived by his two adoring brothers, Derek (spouse Kara Knowles), and Alec (spouse Kalli Forster), and his fiance, love of his life, and soul mate, Christine Sabathia. His loving uncle and aunt, Dr. William L. and Maria Teresa "Teppy" (Paone) Dowdy, and uncle and aunt, Dr. Albert and Louise (Lundberg) Deisseroth, and uncle Tonino Paone. His loving cousins Kate Deisseroth, Karl and Michelle Deisseroth, Karen (Deisseroth) and Jim Chichon, and Morgan Dowdy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Domenico and Palma (Scordo) Paone of Bova Marina, Reggio Calabria, Italy and Olof and Janette (Benedict) Lundberg of Albany, New York. His pallbearers will be his dear friends, Jamii St. Julien, Ayo Scott, Stephen Brisco Jr., Kenneth Sabathia, Jr., Ryan Sabathia, and his cousin Morgan Dowdy. Honorary pallbearers include his dear friends, Chris Windon, Martin Spears, and Uzondu Agochukwu. Services will be held this Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will commence at 11:00am followed by a Mass at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Marc Christopher Lundberg Scholarship Fund at the University of New Orleans' Department of Management.
