It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kingwood, TX resident, Marcelle Adrienne Martin Sherrill, on April 10, 2014, at the age of 71. Marcelle was born January 25, 1943, in Baton Rouge, LA to Wade O. Martin, Jr. and Juliette Bonnette Martin. Marcelle graduated from University High School and attended Louisiana State University. She married Lynn Byron Sherrill on April 4, 1964, in Baton Rouge. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Marcelle graced the lives of many in the numerous locations where she lived including New Orleans and Covington, LA, Paducah, KY, and Kingwood, TX. Her positive, generous spirit and ability to listen made everyone who knew her feel loved, respected, and appreciated. All who met her found a friend in Marcelle. Family was the most important thing to Marcelle. It brought her great joy to be involved in her children's school activities and she continued that tradition with her grand and great grandchildren. She raised three wonderful children: Bridget Lynn Sherrill, Broutin Marcus Lansford Sherrill (Mary Betty), and Amy Park Sherrill (Jeffery Olexa). Marcelle cherished her five grandchildren and great grandchild: Jessica Lynn Brewster Wilson (Wesley Wilson), Jordan Chaz Brewster (Jaune' DeGraffenreid), Emily Marcelle Sherrill, Owen Lansford Sherrill, Brendan Marcus Sherrill and Haley Lynn Higgins. A devout Catholic from the time she was a little girl at Saint Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge, Marcelle remained active in her church throughout her life. In recent years she was a member of St. Martha's parish in Kingwood, TX. She was active in her local community, an active member of the Sophisticated Ladies of Humble, and she provided leadership and guidance to countless members of outreach programs. Recently, Marcelle was recognized by the Joslin Diabetes Center for 50+ courageous years with diabetes. While it is easy to be remorseful for losing such a life spirit, the family also recognizes that they are blessed to have shared many glorious years with her. Marcelle is survived by her husband, three children, five grandchildren, one great grandchild and five siblings including Merle Martin Dooley and brothers Wade, David, Wallace, and Gregory Martin. Marcelle, Celle, Dolly, Mom, Nanny is loved and will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 P.M. on May 31, at Our Lady of Peace Chapel at Saint Paul's School in Covington, LA.
