Rodney "Buddy" Pete McIntyre, 67 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away, Friday, February 8, 2013, at Canon Hospice in New Orleans, La. He was born on Friday, May 25, 1945, in New Orleans, son of the late Cleo McIntyre and the late Ophellia Uli McIntyre. Buddy grew up in Independence and Hammond, La. He graduated from Southeastern High School and attended Tulane University. Surviving are brother & sister-in-law, Reggie and Patricia McIntyre, nieces, Coutney McIntyre Werth, Margaret McIntyre Vanryckeghem and husband Mike, and Tricia McIntyre Plantan and husband Neil, nephew, Reggie McIntyre Jr., great nieces and nephews, Landry, Camille, and Beau Werth, Reg McIntyre III and Colin McIntyre, Evie Vanryckeghem and Elise Plantan. As well as the many friends and relatives of Buddy over the years, from Louisiana to California. He is preceded in death by his parents Cleo and Ophellia McIntyre and aunt, Phyne Uli. The family would like to give a special thanks for care and support given to Buddy by good friend, Edgar Faber and the staff and special "Angels" at Canon Hospice of New Orleans (Jefferson). A Memorial Service will be held in late summer. Contributions may be made to Canon Hospice-Elmwood Medical Center-Akula Foundation, 1221 South Clearview Parkway, Jefferson, LA 70121.
