Rodolfo "Rudy" V. Lozares, Sr., 73, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. Rudy was a native of General Trias, Cavite City, Philippines, and a resident of Gonzales, LA. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Wyndell Lambert Lozares; son and daughter-in-law, Rudy, Jr. and Shanna; two daughters and sons-in-law, Aurora and Clay Stafford and Elena and Brady Diez; six grandchildren, Rudy, III and Desiree Lozares, Cole and Preston Stafford, and Abby and Cameron Diez; a sister, Nene Lozares, of the Philippines; a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Myrla Lozares, of Australia; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Urbano and Benita Lozares; and his siblings, Auring, Feling, Ernie, and Ely. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Rubin Reynolds. Burial will follow in Oak Lane Memorial Park Cemetery in Prairieville. Rudy was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be sadly missed. A retired veteran of the US Navy and retired Master Sergeant Correctional Officer for Elayn Hunt Correctional Center, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, doing yard work, and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
