A native and resident of Lettwsorth, LA, he died on Thursday, April 17, at his daughter's home in Walker, LA, at age 74. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired as a deputy from the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff's Dept. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debra Giamanco McMasters and husband Rick of Walker, LA; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Giamanco and wife Sissy of Walker, LA; sister, Margie Storey of Central, LA; six grandchildren, Crystal Skinner, Sandy Firmin, Chassity McAllister, Larry Giamanco Jr., Michael Giamanco, Rodney Giamanco; and 13 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Mary Spatacino Giamanco; and brother, Michael Giamanco. Gail Handley and her son J.J. and grandson Dillion played a bit part in his life for 19 years. Visiting at Niland's Funeral Home in New Roads on Monday April 21, 2014 from 9 am until religious service in the funeral home parlor at 11 am. conducted by Rev. Jason Hanks. Interment in Our Lady of Seven Delores Cemetery in Jacoby, La. Pallbearers will be relatives and friends. Guest book available online at www.nilandsfuneralservice.com.
