Roy Ernest Dunn, 95, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013. He resided at the same residence on Aberdeen Avenue in Baton Rouge for more than 50 yearsand recently moved to League City, TX to be close to his daughter. Mr. Dunn had been an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge since 1951 and served as a deacon, elder and Sunday School teacher for many years.He was a retired employee of Ethyl Corporation. He graduated from West Lafayette High School in West Lafayette, Ind. He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University in Indiana in 1941 and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Tennessee in 1943. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Pauline Pennell Dunn and a brother Zachariah T Dunn, Jr. Survivors include his daughter Melissa and son-in-law David Johnson, two grandsons, Frank Morgan Johnson and wife Kate and David Forrest Johnson and wife Kess, and five great-grandchildren Colton Roy Johnson, Stratton David Johnson, Kayden Elizabeth Johnson, Keller Morgan Johnson, and Forrest Kent Johnson. All reside in the Houston-area. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00am at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church, 1511 El Dorado Blvd Houston, TX 77062 followed by a brief reception. During June the family will gather for a celebration of life at the Statton family plot in the West Point Cemetery in White County, six miles east of Chalmers, Indiana. In lieu of flowers the family requests that gifts be sent to First Presbyterian Church, 763 North Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
