William "Kenneth" Blalock, Sr., "I know that my redeemer lives." So believed William "Kenneth" Blalock, Sr., 86, who returned to heaven as the result of a tragic automobile accident in East Feliciana Parish on July 24 2014. Kenneth, a native and current resident of Liberty, MS was born on March 25, 1928. He previously resided in Detroit, MI, Delta, PA and Baker, LA. No matter where he lived, Kenneth was known by all for his wit, outgoing personality, patience, and willingness to serve others no matter the cost or inconvenience. He was a man of great intelligence and wisdom, which he imparted freely to those who sought his advice. Kenneth was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served his Father in Heaven in many capacities over his lifetime. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Germany at the end of the war. Kenneth was a 32nd degree Mason in the Masonic Order, a member of the Wahabi Shriners, Eastern Star, and the Pipefitters Local 198. Kenneth is survived by two sons and their spouses, William Kenneth and Lydia Bentin Blalock, Jr., of Irving, TX, and John Earl and Rebecca Mills Blalock of Pickerington, OH; two daughters, Louise Blalock Jacobsen of Watson, LA, and Michelle Blalock Foster and husband Joel, of Meadville, MS; and four sisters, Catherine Blalock Tarver Ginn of Tylertown, MS, Ivy Blalock Moore of Provo, UT, Nell Blalock Hux Findelson of Liberty, MS and Linda Beasley Dixon of McComb, MS. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, Jennifer Jacobsen Gould, Christopher Jacobsen, Julie Jacobsen Gould, Lindsey Long, Aaron Long, Kelsey Long Somerhalder, Kenneth Blalock III, Colin Blalock, Adam Blalock, Kara Blalock, Daniel Blalock, Mattie Blalock, and Austin Foster; and four great-grandchildren, Haylee, Sydnee, Dylan, and Kamryn Gould; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth was accompanied on his final journey to Heaven by his granddaughter, Ariel Michelle Foster Duncan. He was greeted at Heaven's gates by the love of his life and eternal companion, Mary Helen Hodges Blalock. In addition, he was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl Blalock and Eula Elizabeth Brabham Blalock Beasley, brothers John Hilton Blalock, Henry Earl Blalock, and Paul Julius Blalock, and sister Florine Blalock Newcomb Stewart. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Blalock, Jr., John Blalock, Christopher Jacobsen, Aaron Long, Kenneth Blalock, III, Colin Blalock, Thomas Gould, and Bobby Gould. Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Blalock, Kenneth Laird, Carl Clark, Butch Tarver, Julius Beasley, Adam Blalock, and Daniel Blalock. Visitation will be this Saturday, August 9 2014, from 1-4, with services immediately following at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 213 East Blalock Circle, Liberty, MS.
