Jack Simpson passed away Sunday March 16, 2014 from congestive heart failure after a lengthy illness. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Jack graduated from Fair Park High School and Louisiana State University (class of 1950, B.S. School of Engineering). He resided in Hide-A-Way, Lindale Texas after retirement after 27 years as a petroleum engineer for Texas Eastern Engineering, Houston, Texas in 1984. He served his country during WWII as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1946. Jack married Rita Sheets of St. Amant, Louisiana in 1950 and is survived by his wife Rita, son James S Simpson, daughter-in-law Rita Singleterry Simpson, of Grand Prairie, Texas and a grandson Sean T. Simpson of Waxahachie, Texas. Jack was a long time member of The Knights of Columbus, a Life Member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8561, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Jack was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Lindale. A memorial service will be held at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale Texas Wednesday March 19 at 7:00pm. A mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindale Thursday at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers the family request a donation to a in the name of W.C. (Jack) Simpson, Jr.
