Alvin Verle "Hap" Haptonstall was born March 15, 1923 in National City, CA. He passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held on Nov. 3, 2012 at the Gonzales First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Hap was a WWII veteran and graduated from Oregon State University in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Peter Kiewit Son's Company for 27 years. After retirement he spent many years volunteering. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 67 years, Hazella, his daughters, Cheri (Thomas) Goforth, Lauri Busse, Jo (Keith) Hill and Rebecca Floyd, as well as 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. The family wishes to thank the VA Clinic in Baton Rouge and St. Joseph's Hospice for their loving care.
