Andrew "Andy" Nickens Sr. of Denham Springs died peacefully at Lane Memorial on January 15, 2018, at the age of 64. Andy was born on February 6, 1953, in Baton Rouge to Alice and Norman Wade Nickens. He married Dee Nickens in 1988. Andy is survived by his wife, Dee Nickens; mother, Alice Kent; children, Angie (Robin), Drew, Bobby (Tracy), Melissa (Keith), and Benjamin (Jennifer); 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Norman Wade Nickens, who passed away before Andy's first birthday; and his father, Berlin R. Kent; grandparents, A.T. and Mazie Atkinson, Newman and Lydia Nickens; as well as many other loving family members. Arrangements have been entrusted to McLin & Manley Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Walker. Visitation is scheduled Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 22834 Liberty Rd in Pride, La., from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 19, from 8:00 am until services begin at 10:00 am conducted by Pastor Tim Norris. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Andy's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SCBC Building Fund. Online condolences may be left at www.mclinfuneralhome.com.

I am just learning of this. I am truly sorry for your loss Mrs. Dee. I adored him as my home health patient. He was my favorite!! He will be missed.
