A native of Baton Rouge and resident of Harvest Manor Nursing Home, he passed away at 12 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at his residence. He was 93, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired Heavy Equipment Operator. Visiting at Bethel United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Gene Rives. Interment in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery. Survivors include his son, Archie I. McManus, Jr.; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mullins McManus; parents, James Rufus and Etta Robinson McManus; 3 sisters, Ruth, Lola and Ethel; and 1 brother, Eugene. Pallbearers will be David McManus, Archie E. McManus, Kevin McManus, Brian McManus, Alvin Chandler and Bill McManus. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Price, Nick Canatella, Dennis Cheuvront and Aaron Vicari. Arrangements by Renaissance Services, Gonzales. 225-644-2976.
