Ms. Johnson displayed extraordinary strength and courage when suddenly dealt a life of extreme pain and responsibility. I didn't know her at the time her husband was severely injured, but my family grieved as if he were a member of our immediate family, perhaps because he was coming into our living room each day at a time when families still gathered around the one television in the home to watch the news. I later got the opportunity to meet Ms. Johnson. It was amazing to see soo much strength, delight and courage in a person who had lost sooo much. My heart goes out to her family. You have lost a jewel, but i'm certain we will all be reunited.

Audrey and I were long time friends, beginning in our early adult years. We stayed in touch, and talked at least once a year, our last conversation being about a year ago. Audrey's obituary said it all. She was one in a million. My condolences to her family. I know she loved you all. She told me so. Rest in peace, dear friend. You've earned your wings.
