Berlin Lockhart Sr. was born January 1, 1924, and departed this life peacefully at home holding the hand of his wife of 71 years. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired Livingston Parish Sheriff Deputy and a retired staff of MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home. He was a 32nd degree Prince Hall Mason. Berlin Lockhart Sr. leaves to cherish the memories of his life, his loving and devoted wife Martha S. Lockhart; two sons, William Earl of Saginaw, MI, and Berlin Jr. (Bobbie) of Byrum, MS; a loving and devoted daughter, Dr. Lettie L. Lockhart of Athens, GA; seven grandchildren: Gregory D. Landry (Letisha), David G. Ramsey, Schwanda L. Allen, Schronne Jackson, Kimberly A. Lockhart, Carlos S. Lockhart, and Deshawn L. Lockhart; 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Vera L. Baker; a brother, Richard (Geraldine) Lockhart. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Barbara Ann; a son, Freddie Morris Sr.; three brothers; and two sisters. Visitation will be Friday, April 27, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home located at 7803 Florida Blvd. Denham Springs, LA 70726. Religious Services will be Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Roberts United Methodist Church located at 201 Julia Street, Denham Springs, LA 70726, Reverend Kermit C. Roberson, Pastor. Arrangements entrusted to MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home.
