CHAPMAN, CARL HENRY A resident of Union Church, Miss., he died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Meadville Nursing Home, Meadville, Miss. He was 85, born April 25, 1918, in Union Church. He retired from ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Refinery in 1972 as an operator with more than 38 years of service. Visiting was at Brookhaven Funeral Home, Brookhaven, Miss., from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial in Union Church Cemetery, Jefferson County, Miss. Survived by his wife, Mary Idell Chapman, Union Church; a son, Cecil L. Chapman, Atlanta; two daughters, Nancy C. Mosley and Karla C. Browning, both of Baton Rouge; a brother, Percy Chapman, Union Church; three sisters, Virgie McCormick and Hazel McCormick, both of Union Church, and Lillie Sanders of Fayette, Miss.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Chapman and Irma Youngblood Chapman; a brother, T.J. Chapman; and two sisters, Mamie King and Inez Ray.
