I remember 'Miss Cardinale' well from the late 70s when she was assistant principal at Haynes Jr. High. Unfortunately my first encounter with her was in 7th grade and began as a less than positive one. Because the Disciplinarian, Mr. Toups, had an office full of kids, I was sent to see Miss Cardinale for my infraction in Coach Fallon's P.E. class. I don't remember the nature of my infraction, but by the end of our discussion I Iearned much about personal responsibility, respect for authority, respect for my fellow students, integrity, motivation, and the challenges of growing up in the teen years. She implored me to remember our discussion and I did. I did well in my studies in 8th and 9th grades and on into my Riverdale years. Thank you Miss Cardinale. Requiesce in pace.

My heartfelt condolences to Miss Cardinale's surviving siblings and beloved family and friends. She was Vice Principal when my brothers and I attended Haynes Middle School in the '80s. Back then I was a challenging student and pushed her boundaries as a regular occurrence. Yet I remember her poise and generous smile tirelessly greeting students and staff each day. Truly dedicated to her students, she touched countless lives and will be remembered fondly.

I remember 'Miss Cardinale' from T. H. Harris. My father (Marvin Russell, Sr.) was principal there and she was one of his trusted, favorite teachers. I remember numerous telephone calls when Dad would talk with her at length. I do know that my father had the utmost admiration for her. I'm sure that they are catching up on things now in heaven. God bless her and her family.

I lived next door to Catherine, Marian and their mother for several years and we became good friends. I sat with her at our recent retired teacher picnic. What a sweet lady she was. I will miss seeing her once a month at our meetings. Marian, you know I love you and your family and will keep you in my daily prayers.
