Charlene Marie, a Louisiana Creole from the Guillory Family, was born in New Orleans, LA and raised in Baton Rouge, LA for many years and later moved to Los Angeles, CA in her young adult life. At age 62, she departed this life on May 17, 2014 in Silver Springs, MD. She attended St. Francis Xavier, St. Joseph Academy and LSU in Baton Rouge. She was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. She also was a military wife where she traveled throughout the country including Frankfurt, Germany where she resided for several years and later found home in Washington D.C. A memorial service was held in Arlington, VA on May 30, 2014 and she will be interred at the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Elmo Gordon, of Washington, D.C. Four children, Elmer Gordon and Cheryl Zupancic from D.C., Chanda Macias from Maryland and Christalyn Leary from California, and seven grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Louis Atkins, Sister-in-Law, Bonita Atkins, niece Kristal Atkins, all of Baton Rouge and nephew Ronnie Atkins from Florida. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, aunts and uncles and other relatives.
