Tommy passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home in Plaquemine surrounded by his family. Born 11-1-1935 in Plaquemine, LA and graduated from Plaquemine High School and retired from Dow Chemical with 34 years of service. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 16th, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church from 11:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. with burial to follow in Grace Memorial Park. Tommy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dot Berthelot Griffon; three sons, Steve Griffon and wife Nancy, Moon Griffon and wife Tonia, and Kurt Griffon and wife Lisa; two daughters, Karen Shipp and husband Mike, and Suzanne Lestage and husband Brian; 16 grandchildren, Katie G. Gibbons, Kevin Griffon, Chad Leach, Marci Honeycutt, Jodi Leach, Holly Leach, Daniel Griffon, Derek Griffon, Mattie Griffon, Walker Griffon, Kade Griffon, Blair Daze', Reid Griffon, Griffon Lestage, Aimee Lestage and Matthew Lestage; and 10 great grandchildren. Tommy is also survived by three sisters, Glenda R. Murphy, Sara Ann G. Sarradet and Sandra "Coochie" Landry and husband Alton. Tommy served in the National Guard and was a charter member of the St. Louis Hunting Club. He was a member of the K of C, St. John Father's Club, Dow Chemical Retirement Club and served on the Iberville Parish Police Jury. Tommy was an avid gardener, hunter, fisherman and cook. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Bobbie" and Sarah Young Griffon. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family is requesting no flowers. Tommy was my Supervisor at Dow Pipeline. He was the most caring, fun loving person that I've ever known. He enjoyed life and always had that smile and was a Great story teller.
