Charles deBoisblanc Obituary

July 1932 to April 2021, Charles Wright "Pete" deboisblanc peacefully passed away at his home in Houston, Texas on April 30th 2021. Pete was born in 1932 to Meryl and James deBoisblanc in New Orleans, La. He attended St Dominic's Catholic Primary School and continued his education through St Rose de Lima, boarded at Holy Cross, St Aloysius and St Stanislaus in Bay St Louis Mississippi where he graduated. He attended Nichols Junior College in his freshman year and transferred to Tulane University graduating with a degree in Pre-Medicine in 1954. The Korean War detoured his medical degree and he volunteered for T-33 pilot training with the Air Training Command. He was Honorably Discharged from active service in the Air Force in 1957. Pete began his professional career in the oil and gas industry in 1957 where he used his Air Force training to secure a position as a sea plane pilot for Baroid. He later advanced in the company to a pilot drilling fluids engineer. He continued to grow within the company achieving area engineer and then district manager over various locations. He resigned from Baroid and after brief stints with Chromalloy-Delta and Integrated Drilling and Logging, he created Am-Pet Services in 1977 and continued his reputation as a drilling fluids expert for 16 more years. In 1993, after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he formed Health Information Search, Inc as he saw the need for the public to have access to the most current medical research. As a medical consultant he fulfilled his lifelong dream to assist individuals who sought help regarding their medical conditions. He soon realized that there was a demand for medical experts in the legal community. His love of research into medicine and surgical procedures led to his being accepted by courts as a medical expert. Pete enjoyed consulting with patients, physicians and attorneys. He loved researching and reading about medicine. They were provided with in-depth medical reports and access to experts to assist in better understanding their medical options. During his professional career Pete lived in various areas of Louisiana and Texas including the cities of New Orleans, New Iberia, Shreveport, Lafayette, Corpus Christi, Houston, Spring, Spring Valley, Tangle Grove and finally Briargrove neighborhoods. Pete was an accomplished sailor and pleasure craft captain and an active member of Lakewood and then Houston Yacht Clubs. He took great joy in riding with the wind. He and his children have sailed out of Galveston to many far away destinations to include Cuba, Key West, the Bahamas, Veracruz, St. Petersburg and Destin Florida as well as many closer destinations along the Gulf Coast. He enjoyed bay and ocean racing including many Harvest Moon Regattas. He absolutely loved that Fran Goeken, the love of his life, truly enjoyed sailing with him. Pete was full of life and a lover of music. He learned to play the piano late in life. With a twinkle in his blue eyes he sang to his daughters at family gatherings. He would often serenade his sweet Fran with song and dance and she would follow his lead. He will be greatly missed. Pete was preceded in death by his late parents, Louis James deBoisblanc Jr. and Meryl Margaret DeRussy from New Orleans, Louisiana and brothers Michel "Michael" Thomas deBoisblanc and Robert "Bobby" Louis deBoisblanc and paternal grandparents, Louis James deBoisblanc and Marie Eliska deBoisblanc , and his maternal grandparents Charles Wright DeRussy and Marjorie Louise Harris.
