Clarence Bruce "CB" Broussard, Jr., age 65, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Monday, August 20, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather & uncle. He was born on January 9, 1947 in Baton Rouge and has been a lifelong resident of Port Allen. He graduated from Port Allen High School in 1964 & started his career as a machinist for ExxonMobil in 1967. He worked for ExxonMobil for 35 years and retired as a supervisor in 2002. He later opened his own custom rod shop out of his home named River City Rod Shop. Bruce had a passion and love for restoring street rods and was a member of R.O.D.S. car club, which stands for Rambling Oldies of Denham Springs, for 34 years. He also served as president for the R.O.D.S. club for 2 years. Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sharon Rendon Broussard of Port Allen, one son, G. Michael Broussard and partner Blair Kornegay of Baton Rouge, one daughter, Melanie Broussard Budd & husband Troy Budd of Bueche, two grandchildren, Adam & Jacie Budd, his mother, Mae Lejeune Broussard of Port Allen, one brother, Ronnie Broussard & wife Karen Broussard of St. Francisville, a nephew, Ron Broussard & his wife Mandy & daughter Josie of Baton Rouge, a nephew, Brett Broussard and his wife Ashley of St. Francisville, a niece, Kacie Broussard Rock & her husband Brennan of Port Allen, one aunt, Joyce LeJeune of Denham Springs, a special cousin, Kathy Munson of Port Allen, numerous cousins & many friends. Preceded in death by his father, Clarence Bruce Broussard, Sr. Pallbearers will be Troy Budd, Ron Broussard, Brett Broussard, Chris Jarreau, Willie Alford, Jason Alford & Kirk Thibodeaux. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen and at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Allen on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until Eulogy at 10 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Rev. David Allen. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Brusly.
