Daisy Hamilton Carter, a resident of Baton Rouge passed away on Tuesday August 18, 2015 at St. Joseph's Carpenter House at the age of 98. She was born to the late Ed and Martha Hamilton on May 23, 1917 in Old Bird Station. She was married to Johnnie Carter and was a loving mother of six children. She was also a loving grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was affectionaly known as ""Mama Daisy"" to everyone who knew her. She is survived by four daughters, Dorothy C. Butler, Myrtis Carter, Baton Rouge, Ella Matthews, Gardena, CA, Barbara Gail Carter (Lionel), one son, Harry Carter, Houston, TX, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Gladys Hamilton, devoted caregiver, Audrey Black, two adopted daughters, Joyce Dixon (deceased) and Sarah Jackson; two God children, Catresa Green, Baton Rouge and Saundra Grisby, Los Angeles, CA. and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Visiting hours will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Hall Davis & Son Funeral Home, Tuesday August 25, 2015. Visitation will resume at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday at the True Light Baptist Church, 3836 North Street until the celebration of life at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Reverend Dennis Hebert, Sr. Interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Hall Davis and Son Funeral Home, Baton Rouge LA.

Let me just thank God for Daisy Hamilton Carter. She was amazingly strong & a Godly woman. Thanking her for who she was and for the wonderful children she raised so that our family could know, learn from and love her family. We have been blessed by association. I want to end up with the Carter's one day. As Myrtis says, "If God's says the same". I know she will be greatly missed and my heart & prayers are with your family.
