There are no words that will suffice how much I love you and how much you have always meant to me. Nieces have the ability to love their uncles in a way they can't love their own fathers. They are your friends, they look out for you as extensions of your father but are more compassionate and understanding. You always treated me with the utmost respect and told me to never give up on my dreams, I lived too far away because you missed me and yet, you knew I had to move away to be who I was to become. Thank you. Thank you for my aunt Kathy, she is pure gold. Thank you for my cousins whom I love as if they were my own siblings. Thank you for always smiling when I saw you and thank you for loving me uncle Damon. I will never forget you because I will always carry you with me in my heart.

Damon was such a character, with a heart of gold! I thought of him as a diamond in the rough! He was his own counsel, had very fixed and strong ideas about how to do certain things certain ways! Some could say he was hard headed, but I knew him as an old softy! He loved his family and grandchildren with an intense sense of pride! I loved him with complete fascination, as he never failed to amuse me with his tireless antics on how to do stuff! He was the best hugger because I told him that hugs were life giving and he would go out of his way to come bring me some hugs when he knew I was really hurting! He was the best of the best, old school, loyal friend and as they say, they just don't make em like that anymore! I will always miss you my precious friend! Kathy, your friendship means the world to me! My heart and my prayers are with you forever!

Damon and I were close buds way back when and shared many a day hunting, fishing, and just hanging out. He had a bit of a gruff exterior but inside he had a good heart and he was always a very good friend. So sorry that he's gone. We'll all miss you dude. RIP.
