A millwright at Burnside Terminal and a resident of Prairieville, he died at 7:41 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, in Gonzales. He was 49 and a native of Gonzales. Visiting was at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. Visiting at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19. Religious service at Broussard Grove Baptist Church, Prairieville, at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Nathan Luce. Interment in Lusk Cemetery. Survived by his wife and best friend, Carolyn Crawford Acaldo; mother, Jeanette Young Acaldo; three sons, Devin and Derek Acaldo and Darren Brignac; a daughter, Dee Templet; stepdaughters, Nicole Goverenale and Michelle Karasinski; four sisters, Barbara Boe, Peggy Ficklin, Faye Templet and Mary Pearl; six brothers, Vernon, Charles, Ronald, Gerald, Michael and Steve Acaldo; mother-in-law, Freda Crawford; six grandchildren, Mason and Madilyn Goverenale, Adayden McGowan, Jessica Karasinski and Riley Freeman; and his faithful companion, his dog, Fritz. Preceded in death by his father, Vernon V. Acaldo; a niece, Tammy Hatcher; a stepgrandson, Joshua Karasinski; and father-in-law, Riley Freeman. Pallbearers will be Devin, Derek, Ronald, Vernon, Gerald and Charles Acaldo. Honorary pallbearers are Michael and Steve Acaldo, Gene Humphrey, Ryan Robbins and Chris Thevenot. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
