A native and resident of Plaquemine, he passed away on Saturday, April 27,2013 at his home. He was 66 and a retired employee of the City of Plaquemine Utility Plant. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Monday, April 29 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday, April 30 from 8 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine on Tuesday, April 30 at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. Father Cleo J. Milano. Entombment in White Castle Mausoleum. He is survived by his wife, Brenda D. Haydell; mother, Margaret Haydell; one daughter, Amanda Haydell; two sons, David Haydell, Jr. and Michael Haydell & wife Kelly; one sister, Linda Haydell; and four grandchildren, Nicholas Haydell, Jessica Nicole Haydell, Aiden Simpson & Levi Haydell. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Haydell; and his grandparents, Maunel & Hilda Donaud.
