A native of Livonia, La. and resident of Plaquemine, she passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Plaquemine Caring Nursing Home at the age of 105 years, 7 months and 16 days old. She was a visitation worker at Wilbert Funeral Home for 27 years. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m., celebrated by Rev. Cleo Milano. Entombment in Grace Memorial Park. Survivors include her daughter, Ella "P-2" Billings Poche; 15 grandchildren, Roland Landry, Deborah Leger, Roslind Gallet, Toni Daigle, Karen, Julie, Kodie and Stephanie Morales, Susan Melancon, Peggy Swaverly, Lisa Bonin, Abby Lynn Saboe, Paula B. Guerin, Terry B. Freeman and Butch Billings; 32 great grandchildren and 48 great great grandchildren. She is a fifth generation grandparent 11 times. Preceded in death by her parents, William and Cadine Alford; 2 brothers, Ivy and Abram Alford; 3 children, Sadie, Abby and Andrew; 3 grandchildren, Cheryl Brasseaux, Andy and Donald Morales; and 1 great-great grandchild, Shawn Brasseaux. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
