He was born in Bogalusa, LA to parents James Ray and Vermel Adams Stewart on May 8, 1940. He is past president of the Ad Club, SME, and the MNAME. He is a past recipient of the Pete Goldsby and Durwood Gully awards for excellence in advertising. He could captivate a crowd with his smile, wit, charm, and artful spinning of tales of his cows, his family, and the perfect golf round. In the end, all that mattered was his love for his family. Don was special to me in many ways. I was born May 2, 1940 in Washington County MS; Don was born 6 days later in Washington Parish LA. We shared most of our working years together at The Advocate. Don was always ready to give Jimmy Prince and me advice on our cattle venture. I will miss Don's perpetual dimple-cheeked smile!
