Dorothy McGuire Grevemberg passed peacefully at Morningside Assisted Living in Conyers, Ga., on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010. Dorothy supported her husband, Col. Francis Grevemberg in his successful cleanup of illegal gambling when he was superintendent of Louisiana State Police. Her moral values and wholesome approach to living was a solid foundation for her family. She was born in New Orleans. She raised her twin sons in Baton Rouge. They moved back to New Orleans until forced out by Hurricane Katrina. Col. Grevemberg died in 2008. She is survived by her identical twin sons, Francis J. "Pete" Grevemberg and wife Melissa Coleman and Carroll S. Grevemberg and wife Alice Henderson; two grandchildren, David Grevemberg, of Killearn, Scotland, and Elisa Grevemberg, of Reims, France; and two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Audrey Grevemberg, of Killearn. The family requests donations to charities that support Alzheimer's Research Center, 640 Jackson St., St. Paul, MN 55101 or The American Diabetes Association, 3 Corporate Square, Suite 120, Atlanta, GA 30329. Funeral services will be private. Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Grevemberg family tomb in St. Martinville. Horis A. Ward's Rockdale Chapel in Conyers, Ga., is serving the family.
