Mr. Douglas H. Dean, age 70, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile, Alabama. Mr. Dean was born in Louisiana and had been a resident of Monroe County since 2008. He was a member of Community Chapel Holiness Church in Megargel. He retired from the Carpenter's Local and was currently working with STI Secam Technologies as a senior inspector. Mr. Dean leaves behind his wife, De Anna Phillips Dean; 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Tim (Sharon) Dean, Heath (Chekereha) Dean, Jacky (Sam) Lowery and Rick Heath; 3 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Krystal Dean (Joe) Corio, Heather Dean (Reggie) Ethridge, and Kathy (Kenneth) Chustz; 3 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law, John "J.B." (Mary Jo) Dean, Arthur Wayne (Elenora) Dean, and Michael Dean; 28 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and numerous "adopted" church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Herman Dean and Gladys Watts Dean; his wives, Wallace Faye Cunningham Dean and Patsy Wood Dean; his daughter, Georgia Dean Hughes and his son, Kevin Grayson. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until the funeral service time. The services will be officiated by Rev. Douglas McManus, assisted by Rev. Marlin Arceneaux and interment will follow in Dean Family Cemetery in Holden.
