Elaine joined her loving husband, Paul, in heaven Monday April 22 after a brief illness. She was 89. Born in Wisner, LA, she lived most of her life in Baton Rouge. She was also preceded in death by parents, Rowland and Velma (Anderson) Denham; sister, Ruth Denham Kimbrough; and a niece, Carol Kimbrough Powel and great niece, Michelle (Kimbrough) Brown. She is survived by 3 sons, Paul (Chuck) R. Pressler, Sr. (Della) of Baton Rouge; Carl (Denny) Pressler (Mary) of Fredericksburg, TX; Earl N. Pressler (Tina) of Mandeville, LA; daughter, Diane Pressler Vizinat (Stephen) of Opelousas, LA. Nine grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren: Dawn (Pressler) & Jim Lindbergh - Sarah, Benjamin, Jeremy; Paul R. Pressler, Jr.; BMSC H.A. (Andre) & Monica Myers III-Whittany; Dr. Marcus & Barb Pressler - Anders, Lars; Jason & Brooke Pressler - Sam; Crystal Guidry - Drew, Kinsley, AJ; Eric & Melissa Pressler - Nathan, Grant; Nick Pressler; BM1 Timothy & Holly Myers - Sylas; a dear family friend, Peggy Pressler; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pressler, a graduate of University High and BR Business School served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a map maker for our bombing squadrons. After the war she continued to work for the Department of Defense. Was employed by Standard Oil Company, Microtec Instruments, and Scientific Systems and ended her long career with East Baton Rouge Parish Schools working in the Guidance Counselor's Office at Woodlawn High School. Her love of arts filled her life dance, crochet, sewing and quilting. During her retirement she expanded into painting historical scenes and landscapes. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and will resume on Friday from 10 a.m. until religious services at 12 noon.
