Elaine Treuil DeLatin passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the age of 92. She was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Port Allen. Elaine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was firm in her Catholic faith, serving as altar boy coordinator for over 20 years, and also as a Eucharistic Minister for Bishop Ott Apartments for many years. Elaine and her husband attended daily mass as well as the weekly Novena for decades. Her passions were watching LSU sports, working in her yard and garden, cooking and spending time with her family. She also spent many Christmases working with Good Fellows-Good Samaritans. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen DeLatin Rosso and spouse John, Donald H. DeLatin and spouse Mona and John B. DeLatin, Jr. and spouse Tricia; a sister Carolyn Treuil Blanchard; seven grandchildren, Steven, Michael, and Laura DeLatin, Tara McGee, Bradley Watts, Laura and Jonathan Castille, four great-grandchildren, Chandler, Morgan, Dane Watts and Molly McGee. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 68 years, John Baptiste DeLatin, her parents, Naomi Altazin and Lucius Treuil,Sr., sisters, Gladys Treuil Ryan and Mary Treuil Slaven, brothers, Clifton Treuil, Willie Treuil, Lucius Treuil, Jr. and Horace Treuil. Visitation and services will be Monday, July 17, 2017 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church starting at 9:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Pallbearers will be, Steven and Michael DeLatin, Bradley Watts, Jonathan Castille, Chad McGee and Guy Blanchard. A special thanks to Notre Dame Hospice staff, Camille and Jill for their heartfelt care during this difficult time, and special caregivers Paulette and Evon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catholic High School, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School, and St. Vincent DePaul.
