Entered eternal rest at her residence in Port Hudson, Louisiana from injuries suffered from a tragic house fire on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. She was an 80 year old native of Ethel, Louisiana and a 1956 graduate of Northwestern High School. Religious service will be held at New Hope B.C., Zachary, Rev. Geoffrey Sykes, pastor on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11am conduced by Rev. Dr. Thomas H. Lewis Jr.; interment at True Light B.C. Cemetery. Survivors include her children, Danice Taylor Sims, Baker, Louisiana, Laura R. Butler and William Butler Jr. (Cynthia), Baton Rouge and Ivy J. Taylor (Virginia), Port Hudson, son, Ricky Taylor, of Baton Rouge; a brother, Charles Alexander, Port Hudson; grandchildren, Latashe Sims-McNeely (Leo), Damon Sr. and Candra Sims, Montrell and Karlyn Butler, Ashawnte and Courtney Taylor and Tamerin T. Norman (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Kornell, Javon, Damon Jr. and Essence Sims, Kendrick Ruffin Jr., Brandon II and Miccah Norman; a niece, Vanessa Lindsey; preceded in death by her husband, William Butler Sr.; parents, Adella and John Taylor Sr.; children, Morace and Roslyn Butler; siblings, Annie L. Lindsey, Clarence and John Taylor Jr.; son-in-law, Arthur Sims; and her best friend, Arabelle Scott. Arrangements by Miller & Daughter Mortuary.
