Elsie Parent Peltier, age 79, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mrs. Peltier was a native of St. Amant, La and was a resident of Harahan, LA for 49 years. Beloved wife of the late Guy Joseph Peltier. Mother of Kim J. Peltier (wife, Pam), Cindy Peltier Henderson (husband, Barry) and Steve J. Peltier. Grandmother of Clifton J. Peltier, Christopher E. Peltier, Steffan S. Peltier, Jesse G. Peltier, Angelle E. Peltier and the late Myles Sterling Henderson. Great grandmother of Katelynn, Matthew, Mason, Landon, Logan, Jackson, Scarlette and a great grandchild on the way. Daughter of the late Adam Pierre Parent and Camelia Babin Parent. Sister of Bobbie Trosclair, Ruby Bourgeois and the late Verba "Coty" Raines, Virgie Watson, Leona Clement, Geniva "Ginny" Galan, Georgette "Peggy" LeBlanc and Hyson Parent. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie was a caretaker of many children in her life. Every baby and child she had the pleasure of caring for was given excellent care and multitudes of love. Her favorite past time was caring for her family and friends. She always welcomed everyone with open arms sharing many hugs and kisses. She endearingly became known to everyone as Maw Maw! Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017 beginning at 9:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home's chapel. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers it was Elsie's wish that donations in her memory can be made to Greater New Orleans Foundation "Smyles For Myles" Scholarship Fund, 919 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA 70130 ATTN: Allie Betz (phone number 504-598-4663) in memory of her grandson or , 262 Danny Thomas Drive, Memphis, TN 38105 or St. Joseph's Hospice The Carpenter House, 507 Upstream St., River Ridge, LA 70123.
