Miss Evon was my "college mom"! She fed me, encouraged me and loved me. I would answer the phone to hear her voice (no self-identification needed!) and her say, "I have a big pot of vegetable soup on the stove and the cornbread is in the oven, you girls come on over", or "Debbie, you buy the crawfish, I will spread the newspapers and make the tea!" She let me cry when I was failing microbiology, loaned us a recliner, sent Marc to light our furnace, we shared rides to meeting and she just loved my roommate and I. Lots of good memories! Know that our thought and prayers are with you.
