A resident of Jackson, LA, she passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at her home. She was 88, and a native of Brookhaven, MS. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Ted Roeling. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Louis Dunigan of Jackson, LA; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Patti Alderman of Brookhaven, MS; sister, Libby King of Durango, CO; six grandchildren, Heather Dunigan of Denver, CO, Heidi Parker and husband Casey of Zachary, Cameron Alderman of Portland, OR, Chelsea Chaves and husband Guillermo of Jackson, MS, Carlianne Alderman of Brookhaven, MS, and Cory J Alderman of Brookhaven, MS; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden Burton-Parker, Kennedy Parker, and Tomas Chaves. Preceded in death by husand, Ralph Thomas "Pappy" Alderman; three sisters, Ernestine Smith, Mildred Johnston, and Audrey Nell Smith; brother, Harold Price; and her parents, Sidney and Mamie Smith Price. Pallbearers are Cory Alderman, Casey Parker, Guillermo Chaves, Lamar Foote, Michael Redd, and Sid Gautreaux. Honorary pallbearers are Cameron Alderman, Hugh C. Smith, Glenn Redd, Paul Redd, J.W. Redd, Billy Anderson, Jerry James, and Darrin Guilbeau. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Canon Hospice of Baton Rouge, 1761 Physicians Park Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
