A retired pipefitter in the chemical industry, he died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, surrounded by family. He was 77 and a resident and native of Plaquemine. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Thursday, June 4, from noon until service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Cleo Milano, celebrant. Entombment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by a brother, Vic Aidone; three sisters, Josie Gourgues, Rosa Lee and husband Norris Lyall, and Frances Aidone Ferachi; and godchildren, Tonya Lyall Orcino and Sherri Achee Roussel. Preceded in death by his parents, Tony Aidone and Frances Pollage Aidone; sisters, Mary Denicola, Tina A. Vicciello and Angelina Palazzo; and niece and nephew, Lisa Achee Stutes and Norris Lyall II. Memorial donations may be made to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. He was president of Elks Lodge for many years and belonged to Local Union 198.
