Patriarch, Husband, Father, Pawpaw, Sergeant in the Infantry and Purple Heart Recipient -- U.S. Army WWII, Builder, Gardener, Artisan, Outdoorsman…George was all this and more. The son of Tolbert and Mary Seguin, George Lee Seguin, Sr., died March 2 at his home in Maurepas. He was surrounded by his children and loved ones who helped him leave this life and join those that had gone before him. George was married to Mary Annabelle Brashear on November 11, 1940. Annabelle preceded him in death January 26, 1994 after 53 years of marriage. He leaves behind four children and their spouses: George Lee Jr., married to Patsy Gomez, Baton Rouge; Janice Gail, Maurepas; Judy Kay, married to Paul Shimp, Dallas, TX; and Linda Darnell, Maurepas; as well as 10 grandchildren:Yvette Benoit, Wanda Maloney, Jerry Seguin, Wayne Yoes, Wendy Anderson, Kristopher Seguin, Jameson Shimp, Gregory Seguin, Brett Moree, and Byron Moree; 23 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Lillian Freeman. Daddy was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Mary Annabelle Brashear; infant son Gregory Lynn; daughter, Cynthia Ann Dautreuil and brothers and sisters, Ted, Dolly Breaux, Lawrence, Rose Lavigne, Sybil McLin, August, Cliff, John and Delry. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge. Visiting will be Tuesday 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 9:00am until the religious service in the chapel at 11:00am. Father Jason Palermo, Pastor, St. Stephens Church, Maurepas, will officiate. Entombment will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Mausoleum, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, immediately following the service at Rabenhorst. Pallbearers for Pawpaw will be his grandsons, Jerry Dwayne Seguin, Darryl Wayne Yoes, Ryan Joseph Anderson, Jameson Song Shimp, Gregory Lynn Seguin, Brett Allen Moree and Byron Allen Moree. Honorary pallbearer is Kristopher Don Seguin. The family was fortunate to have had him for 93 years and will miss him terribly. The family's thanks go out to Generations Hospice for the loving care they gave our Dad. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital of Memphis, TN.
