George Robertson "Rob" Sharp, Jr. passed away, Tuesday, July 11, 2017, after sustaining injuries from an accident Monday evening, at age 60. Rob was a Baton Rouge native, graduating from Broadmoor High School in 1974. He worked in the automotive repair business for more than 35 years before retiring. He is survived by his children, David Sharp, daughter-in law, Mary Claire Sharp, Adam Sharp, daughter-in-law, Megan Sharp, Robbie Sharp, daughter Samantha Sharp; 4 grandchildren, Dustin, Tristan, Aaron and Ryleigh Sharp; his brother Wally Sharp, sister-in-law Judith Sharp; 2 nephews' Dawson and Drew Sharp. He is preceded in death by his parents, George R. Sharp, Sr., Lonita Storey Sharp, and his sister Rebecca "Becky" Kannon. Rob was a kind and giving man who loved all of his children, grandchildren, and his dog Jack, whom he took everywhere. He loved to fish and hunt and could tell you many stories about it. Although Rob was taken from us too soon, he died a hero by helping others to live, as he was an organ donor. He is now in his eternal home, reunited with his parents and sister. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, on Monday July 17th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18th, visitation will be held at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, 8833 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge, from 10:00 a.m., until Christian Services at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenoaks Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Luke's Episcopal Church. The family would like to thank the staff of TNCC at Our Lady of the Lake, and the caring people at Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA).
