Mr. Gerald Hawkins, a retired worker from the town of Rosedale, La & a lifelong resident of Rosedale, La, passed away Tuesday Sept 12, 2017 at the age of 59. Visitation Friday Sept 22, 2017 at A. Wesley's Funeral Home 10810 Ventress Dr, Maringouin, La from 1 p.m. To 7 p.m. Religious service is Saturday Sept 23, 2017 at Mount Gideon Baptist Church, 77700 West Oak Ln, Maringouin, La, at 11 a.m. Conducted by Pastor Rodrick Scott. Interment at Hartzell Methodist Church Cemetery in Rosedale, La. He Leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving & devoted wife, Georgia Hawkins; his son, Jerry (Theresa) Braxton; seven stepchildren, Henry Lee Harris, William (Shirley) Harris, Herman (Regina) Harris, Lolitha Harris, Georgia (Joseph) Porche, Sylvia (Gerald) Harris & Penny (Carl) Taylor; five sisters, Debra Hawkins, Brenda Bynum, Jacqueline Hawkins, Margaret (Walter) Montgomery, Rosa (Leon) Ventress; five brothers, Donald Hawkins, Charles Hawkins, Nathaniel Hawkins Sr., Thomas (Alice) Hawkins Sr. & Lawrence (Lola) Hawkins; his special babies, Zorriah, Jasmine, Talia, Dylan & Dashawn; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; his granddaughter, Taveria Crowell; his goddaughter, Monica Bilberr; & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives & friends, including Eddie Robinson & Mr. & Mrs Edsmond & Madonna Hutchinson. He was well known in the community as "Handy Man", he enjoyed the great outdoor fishing, bar-b-que, family gatherings his favorite. Leisure activity was watching NFL Sunday football games & cheering his number 1 team, The San Francisco "49ers". Professional services Entrusted to A. Wesley's Funeral Home in Maringouin, La.
