Glen R. Kimble Sr., a resident of Independence, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 8, 2018, surrounded by his love ones. He was born December 31, 1941, in Roseland and was 76 years of age. He was a 1st class pipe welder by trade and a #1 dad and granddad. He loved the country life, farming and planting his garden and watching it grow. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed cooking with his family. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandbabies. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patsy Laverne Newcomb Kimble; children, Robbie Kimble and wife Sandra, Michael R. Kimble and wife Amy, and Donna Lynn Kimble, and John E. Kimble; grandchildren, Amanda Kimble, Glen Kimble III and wife Melissa, Keith Mixon, Summer Straton and husband Donnie, Aubrey Mixon and wife Brittany, Michael Ray Kimble Jr. (Sonny), Mariah Kimble and Desmond Newcomb; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Nievar, Addie LeBlanc, Zamara Mixon, Bella Mixon, Maleigh Kimble, Nathan Kimble, Everly Newcomb and Paxton Stratton; brothers, Milton Kimble and wife Marie, Luke Kimble and wife Tonya, and George Kimble and wife Sharee; sisters, Irma Smith, Rhenda Ann O'Malley and husband Tim, and Edie Tate and husband Will; sister-in-law, Sandra Prine; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his son, Dennis Dewayne Kimble; parents, Luke R. and Rose Lee Smith Kimble; sister, Dammanica Lee Sullivan; brother, Willie Kimble, and his brother-in-law, Donald Smith. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 10 AM until religious services at 12 Noon Monday, March 12, 2018. Interment Arcola Roseland Cemetery, Arcola.
