Gloria Theriot Dupre died on March 22, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 23, 1935, in Opelousas, Louisiana, where she lived until she later moved to Baton Rouge. Gloria was co-owner of Dupre's Alternator and Starter Service, a small business on Florida Boulevard that did electrical repairs for vehicles and where she lived for a number of years. Gloria was devoted to her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she poured out her love upon with special notes and surprise gifts. She loved her Saturday lunches at her favorite local eateries and never missed an excuse to buy a Baum's cake to celebrate her family. She is preceded in death by her son Michael Dupre; her parents Alfred and Olivia Theriot; her sisters Enola Bergeron, Mathilda Arceneaux, Mable Gautreaux, and Julia Dufore; and brother Joe Theriot. She is survived by her sister Irma Doucet and husband Paul; her sister Lily Savoie; her daughter Debra Nelson and husband Doody; her daughter Barbara Williams and husband Darryl; and her son James Dupre. She is also survived by grandchildren Danny Nelson and wife Susan; Brad Babin; Rebecca Babin; Dawn Rogers and husband Chris; Rene Brinlee and husband Jared; Gloria Lauderdale and husband Jimmy; as well as great grandchildren Owen and Myles Babin; Alexandra, Samantha, and Cameron Rogers; Leila Brinlee; and Rosemary Lauderdale, whom she called Grandma's Angels. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It was Gloria's wishes to be cremated with no memorial service. The family wishes to thank Clarity Hospice nurses Cassandra and Terri; Eagan Home Health nurse Etta; and Doctors Linda Stewart and Mark Posner for their exceptional care of her in her last days.
